city limits or bust

Yesterday was novel day. For the first time in my history as a floral designer, someone else delivered the flowers. OK, so I practically hugged the driver, and then my delivery rep...

Kind of embarrassing but it really was fun having that part taken care of. I do love seeing people's reactions and chatting in person and that I will miss. But having 2 more hours in the day to design and greet customers will be fab! So here are this weeks orders - warm berry tones (with the shop as backdrop).
An eclectic mix of Naranja and Spanish Dancer roses, plum asclepias, peach stock, allium, and love-in-a-mist - feels like Summer!

tweeters

Still setting up shop - who knew that cardboard boxes would be the rough spot of my day? So grateful for our recycling being setup last week!

Inside 2 of these cardboard boxes rests these little birdies - wonderful paintings by artist Matt Adrian - aka The Mincing Mockingbird. They are for our first show at the shop. I am afraid to open them as I know I will get distracted looking at them all...deciding which is my favorite and then changing my mind 12 times before I realize an hour has passed. No, I will wait to open the boxes when I can greet each one personally...soon, very soon my friends.

box #87

Love this chair I ordered for the shop - finally assembled it today as we are (shhhh!) tying to open Tuesday.

It looks oh so cute with this pillow from Hable Construction!

winkel

I can be a little crazy when it comes to antiques. I wouldn't say that they are in huge supply (at least what I am looking for) here in Oregon so when the chance arrises for an antique show, I squeeeeeze it in.That is to say after a huge wedding and during finishing the shop to open. I gave myself only 90 minutes to shop.

So I wanted to share with you this fab booth called Candywinkel. It is created by paper designers Amy Smith (of Goosey Press) and Alex Wijnen (of Cecily Ink). The concept for the line started with a five-hour plane ride to NYC in May (they both were exhibiting at the National Stationery Show).

Candywinkel – "winkel" being the Dutch word for store - they call it  "your place for all things sweet and pretty!"
Such a clever and cute concept...they take vintage containers and load them up with all sorts of old fashioned sweets in yummy little color combos. I wanted to swoop it all up and have a tea party in a garden!
Read more about it on Alex's blog.

sweetness and light

I am up to my eyeballs in barcodes trying to get the shop ready to open next week...

So today I will just give you a sweet little corner of our home...
I did this simple little painting last year and loved how the bright tulips and nerine lilies looked next to it.
Have a lovely Monday everyone!

This lovely box of goodies arrived at the shop and we better open soon or this box is in danger!

Yummy salted caramels from Little Flower Candy Co. ...
Could we help it if we had to test the quality, you know, for our customers...only the best.
"Look, this one has a crooked label and that one is just all wrong...(quick hide them!)"
Have a great long holiday weekend everyone!
